<  Social Marketing Committee  ~  food pantry outcome evaluation

Hi Social Marketing committee members,


One of the discussion items during our last call was how the food pantry outcome evauation on the DVD/recipe cards could provide information for the development of the social marketing campaign. I've been working on the food pantry evaluation and how we can
incorporate some questions into it that will be useful for the social
marketing campaign.

The current plan is to survey clients at 4 different
sites - 2 pantries in Chester county that will be showing the Good Food
TV DVD, and 2 additional sites in Lancaster/Schuylkill counties that
participated last year and have a new DVD to show this year. The survey
at the Chester county sites focuses primarily on client response to the
DVD (retention of key messages, intent to use recipes, intent to change
food purchasing behavior). The Lancaster/Schuylkill survey focuses more
on whether clients have actually used any recipes from the pantry,
frequency of meals prepared at home, and barriers to cooking at home.

Both surveys are attached, in addition to the general description of the evaluation design. I think that both will give some useful
information to the SM committee in terms of how well messages in the
DVD/recipe card format reach these clients. The questions particularly
relevent to a "eat at home" campaign are # 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13
on the Lancaster/Schuylkill survey.

We'll be discussing this on the call tomorrow - if you get a chance, please review the surveys!
