Hunger Action is teaming up with Ngozi Village, American Cancer Society, Capital Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Area Council, Inc., and Penn State University Hershey Medical Center, to provide information on eating fresh and locally, why it's so important to your health, and how to pay for it with food stamps. We will be on hand to promote and answer questions about the Food Stamp Program, as well as make appointments for telephone applications.

Central PA Food Bank Mobile Pantry Distribution
Walmart Parking Lot, Elizabethville
Participants will be able to collect a bag of free food from the Central PA Food Bank's mobile pantry. They can then check to see if they are eligible for the Food Stamp Program if they are not currently enrolled in the program. Staff will be on hand to also apply on behalf of participants who appear to be eligible.

Food Stamp Outreach for Seniors
Giant Food Stores - Kline Village Shopping Center, Harrisburg
Hunger Action in conjunction with the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and Giant Food Stores, provided food stamp promotion and application assistance for seniors at the Kline Village Giant store in Harrisburg. Seniors were able to determine whether or not they appear eligible for the Food Stamp Program (FSP). They were also able to apply on site in a private location or set up an appointment for a telephone application. The Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Network was also on site, distributing nutrition education materials.
