| Anti-hunger advocacy is the most effective way to provide more food to hungry people, according to Mazon and other progressive funders. Many people, over the course of many years, have tried to help the less fortunate. What we have learned from their efforts is:
Advocacy is feeding people, not just talking about feeding people. When people are hungry, we must feed them and prevent them from facing hunger in the future. Whether helping people find food through Hunger Action's Food Information Line or determining whether a person in need might be eligible for food stamps through Hunger Action's Food Stamp Screening Line, the Pennsylvania Hunger Action Center is at work to make sure every Pennsylvanian has enough nutritious food for an active and healthy life. Hunger Action strives to educate the public and the policymakers about hunger and to eradicate the conditions that cause hunger.
